Pink Wishes She Never Sang ‘We’ve Got Scurvy’ for ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’

Pink is not proud of her contribution to the “SpongeBob SquarePants” franchise. The pop star recently admitted that she regrets recording the song “We’ve Got Scurvy” for the 2009 compilation album “SpongeBob’s Greatest Hits” and the special episode “Truth or Square.”

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Pink revealed which of her singles she considers her best and worst. She praised “So What” and “Get the Party Started” as some of her best songs, but she was not happy with “True Love” and “We’ve Got Scurvy.”

“True Love” is a 2012 track featuring Lily Allen that Pink described as a “mean” song about her relationship with Carey Hart. She said, “Carey’s got thick skin, but I owe him a love song.” She then remembered the “SpongeBob” song that she wishes she never did. “Oh wait, I did put out that ‘SpongeBob’ thing — ‘We’ve Got Scurvy,'” Pink said. “I wish I never did that. That was a real mistake.”

“We’ve Got Scurvy” is a sea shanty that talks about the symptoms of scurvy, a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency. The song also references Pink’s hit “Get the Party Started” with the line, “We’re gonna get this party started right.” Pink filmed a music video for the song, in which she wore a pirate costume and appeared in a fish bowl and on a boat.

The song was featured in the episode “Truth or Square,” which celebrated the 10th anniversary of “SpongeBob SquarePants.” The episode also included guest appearances by celebrities such as Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Robin Williams, and LeBron James.

Pink has not commented on why she regrets doing the song, but some fans have speculated that it might be because of the negative reviews it received from critics and listeners. Some have called it “annoying,” “cringey,” and “the worst thing Pink ever did.”

Pink is not the only singer who has collaborated with “SpongeBob SquarePants.” Other artists who have performed songs for the show include David Bowie, Brian Wilson, Cyndi Lauper, and Avril Lavigne.
